"DOG & BUTTERFLY"

During the summer of 1990 my German Shepherd puppy was five months old. He spent hours during bright sunny days chasing butterflies in our four acre wildflower field. Through the rolling hills he would dance hoping to catch just one of these amusing creatures in flight. I followed him around trying to catch him in the act, all the while humming the tune by the music group, Heart, "Dog & Butterfly". After many days, this painting emerged. Look closely and you will see the yellow butterfly near the tip of his nose.

Accepted into the 1992 National "Shades of Pastel" Open Juried Fine Art Show at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD, and the Art Show at the Dog Show, Wichita, KS).
