Marian Anderson and her husband Vince Meyer, a stone mason, live in a field stone home built by Vince on a wooded hill overlooking the Blue Earth River near Mankato, Minnesota.

Early in her career Marian was known for her portrait paintings, in which she won numerous awards in portraiture.  Another segment of her earlier career included surrealism art, which she exhibited in New York, winning several International Medals of Honor.

An artist whose respect and love for life is clearly evident in her work, Marian Anderson posseses versatility and true natural talents.  Her paintings reflect a fascination for the wilderness and it's wildlife that she acquired as a child.  Her subjects are majestic and powerful in their beauty, set against the background of their natural habitats. 

A self-taught artist who combines innate artistic ability with extensive research, she has enjoyed many activities in order to gather material for her work - hiking, canoeing, dog sledding, hunting, black powder rendezvous, and powwows.

Marian paints in oil on stretched canvas because she likes the "live feeling" under her brush.  Her art is exhibited in galleries and private art collections throughout the United States and abroad..
