| Dee Dee Murry was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She has drawn and
painted animals for as long as she can remember. She owned and showed horses for many
years and drew and painted mainly horses until getting Fred, a Great Dane, and Jessie, a
standard longhaired dachshund. These two were her soul mates and she spent several years
showing them as well. She switched her main focus to dog art at the encouragement of
fellow dog show exhibitors. From there her art branched into wildlife and includes horses
again as well. She has achieved many regional and national awards with her art, including being the Washington State Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year, and placing in the top 7 twice in the highly competitive Federal Duck Stamp competition. Her love for animals shows through in her art where she strives to capture the personality and essence of the individual animal, as well as close attention to correct anatomy and detail.
